A code system invented in 1836 carrying twenty-first century vocabulary is a graphic-design favorite: t-shirt prints with Morse for emoji, social-media hashtags rendered as dots and dashes, and tech-startup logos using Morse identifiers. Modern Morse appears on developer-conference badges, hackathon swag, and tech-themed engravings. Most modern words run 6 to 10 letters and transmit in 3 to 5 seconds.
