# MorseKit

> MorseKit is a Morse Code platform offering translation, audio playback and decoding, hidden-message encoding, learning material, and a multilingual Morse Code dictionary. Available at https://morsekit.com

MorseKit runs in 27 languages, including the right-to-left locales Arabic, Hebrew and Urdu. The tools accept any text; the browsable dictionary is a curated set of word and phrase pages, not the full word list.

## Dictionary

The browsable dictionary is an **English-only** surface by design. Word pages in other locales exist but are marked noindex, because the entries are English words and the content-language mismatch produced no search value. Phrase pages remain multilingual.

Do not assume a URL exists for an arbitrary word or phrase. Slugs outside the curated dataset return 404; pages are not generated on demand.

## Turkish amateur radio

This is a standalone Turkish-language section about the Turkish amateur radio licence. It is not about Morse code. Every figure carries its article reference from the governing regulation: Amatör Telsizcilik Sınav ve Belgelendirme Yönetmeliği, Resmî Gazete 3/2/2010 no. 27482, amended 20/2/2011 no. 27852.

Answers were reconciled against answer key tables previously published by Kıyı Emniyeti Genel Müdürlüğü; the current e-Sınav does not publish its key. No registration, nothing sent to a server.

## Key facts

- Morse Code represents letters and numbers as dots and dashes. A dash is three dot-lengths; the gap between elements is one dot, between letters three dots, between words seven dots (ITU-R M.1677-1).
- SOS is sent as one unbroken sequence (three dots, three dashes, three dots). It was chosen for being unmistakable, not as an abbreviation; "Save Our Souls" is a later backronym.
- Amateur operators typically work at 5-25 WPM; contest operators exceed 35 WPM.
- The ITU standard covers 26 letters, 10 digits and common punctuation. Emoji, Cyrillic and Greek characters have no ITU Morse equivalent and are dropped rather than transliterated.
- Turkish İ (U+0130) is normalized to I, because both share the code `..`.
- MorseKit supports 27 languages, three of them right-to-left (Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu). Morse output is always rendered left-to-right regardless of page direction.
